Our trees go colorful and the wild season with local venison pleasures of a big variety on the dishes. It is already the time: Autumn is coming.
As well is the monthly Grindelwaldner market coming: Market stand to market stand are the delicious, bargain, eye-catcher and standing still lined up on the street. Definitely is the 4th of October a date, which should be colored in red in the calendar. Furthermore are many things too in Grindelwald: The mountain railway, the hiking paths and the mountain restaurants are open until the end of October. In the Selfness Center are many speeches about the "Mind-Chi" and the Ayurveda. As well you can see: The October offers you many highlights.

Grindelwaldner's Market, 4th of October 2010
Every first Monday in October transforms the Grindelwaldner center in a colorful market. In the morning from 06.00 o'clock until 17.00 o'clock in the evening is the street full with small market stands, which tempting smell of goodies, gimmick work of art, many bits and bobs and bargain offer. Of course the bar for sociability and the carousel for the children aren't missing. A date, which should be prebooked...
Martina's recommendation
I'm Martina Meisser and you know me from the Reception. The Hotel Eiger was my educational business and after I worked for some years in a different Hotel, I came back in the Hotel Eiger and I'm comfortable with looking after the guests and being in the front line.
The climate change is for me an interesting matter. The Alps are reacting very sensitive on the change and the first signs are already obvious in the Jungfrau region. My advice for you is a tour with your I-Phone climate guide. With this functional guide on the I-Phone you'll find out seven different tracks from Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren which tell you interesting things about the climate change. You can borrow an I-Phone at our Reception and for example you can make the exciting route from Pfingstegg - Bäregg. The ground erosion and the melting glacier are very impressive to see.
By the way, we want to give our part for the intact environment and hook our heater up to a CO2 neutral wooden warmth in Grindelwald. Have fun with the relaxing hike!
