The call of nature

August 2, 2012

When the scent of freshly mowed hay is in the air, the impressive Eiger northface snowfields glitter in the sun, the alpine roses blossom and the mountain daw proclaims his freedom in a cheeky & loud way - this is when we are drawn out into the nature in a magical way. The August sun pampers us with warmth, the mountain streams promise to cool us off and summer surrounds of with humming and buzzing.
If you are looking forward to see the performance of country lady Rattlesnake Annie or prefer to discover the new climate trails with your iPhone - with a large variety of choices in our August highlights - we hope that you will find something that suits you.
Enjoy clicking through and don't resist the call of nature...

Sincerely yours,

Shiatsu massage in the Hotel Eiger

Shiatsu massage in the Hotel Eiger

The word Shiatsu means "finger pressure", but Shiatsu is carried out with the hands, elbow and knees as well. The pressure is complemented by stretching and rotations or just by holding specific body parts. Blockades are  loosened, weak parts are stimulated, the energy of the body is animated and the energy balance is in harmony. Through this, relaxation, reduction of discomfort and disappearance of pain might be the result. Shiatsu supports people to treat their body in an attentive way and to stay healthy.
Bookable in our Selfness Center with our japanese therapist Nami Kobayashi, 50 minutes = CHF 100, book under selfness@eiger-grindelwald.ch

Finger Yoga "mind management"

The finger tips are closely connected with the brain. By rubbing these consciously, this in one way stimulates the brain but at the same time also calms dawn. Rub your thumbs together while breathing a few times, then the index finger, and then the rest of the fingers. It is important that you really feel the "contact area". Then put all finger tips together and increase and decrease the pressure with every breath. This exercise synchronises the left and the right half of the brain. To the right, this is where we keep our memories and to the left this is where we have the logic and our detailed thinking. In Ayurveda this excercise is used to improve your breathing.

Insider tip of Karin Balmer

Insider tip of Karin Balmer

My name is Karin, "deputy" coach in restaurant Barry's since 2 years and responsible of a smooth flow and a pleasant hospitality when you visit us. I am born and raised in Grindelwald, and l love these mountains and our fantastic nature. I like country music which really suits Grindelwald with its emotional lyrics and its special rhythm. This is why I am really looking forward to the 17th of August when we have the world famous american Rattlesnake Annie in our restyled Gepsi bar. 20 years ago she was in Japan with the "children of America" and not only the locals are looking forward to seeing her. I am very excited to see her and hope that you will come and join us for this country evening with a country legend!
