For months, the nine young culinary talents had been preparing for this special moment in addition to their cooking apprenticeship: the cooking competition at the vocational school in Baden, where they had to prepare their self-created dishes under the critical observation of a jury of experts. Lukas Heller from Hotel Schönbühl in Hilterfingen (and our son!!!) convinced the jury the most. The 18-year-old is in his 3rd year of training and was selected as the winner at a gala. Second place went to Stefanie Steiner from Gasthof Löwen in Bubikon. Third place went to Timo Rechsteiner from the Insel Hospital in Berne. The only national Swiss apprentice cooking competition is organised annually by Prodega/Growa/Transgourmet under the patronage of the Swiss Cooking Association.
